Frame Overview

The 'HaloRC Scarab' has been designed from the ground up around the latest DJI O4 video transmission system. Now we have the ability to record very high quality footage without the need of a separate camera, we wanted to create the perfect sub 250g setup for this awesome camera.

The 'HaloRC Scarab' is the perfect platform, providing an adjustable camera angle of 0-35 degrees with no frame or propellors in view. With enough room to run a 20x20 stack or the recommended 25mm AiO boards. Designed for running 3 inch props and an 850mah 4S lipo on top, giving this setup the same characteristics as a five inch freestyle drone, with lots of power and agility.

Using our tried and tested frame design that incorperates a spine to stiffen up the centre of the frame, the 'HaloRC Scarab' is very stiff and durable. This results in a frame that provides great resistance to vibrations being picked up by your flight controller and the O4 camera, so your flights are as silky smooth as the footage being captured.

The motor layout is commonly known as the dead cat style, which keeps the propellors out of the shot. The 'HaloRC Scarab' uses replacable front and rear arms rather than a mono plate design. This ensures the carbon is cut in the optimal angle for maximum performance.

Included with the Scarab frame kit are TPU camera and antenna mounts designed for the DJI O4 Pro. The camera mount secures the camera in the perfect position between the front standoffs and the angle is adjustable from 0-35 degrees. The antenna mount angles the two antennae in the optimal position for both durability and the best signal.

The gyro data from the camera is used for stabalising the footage in post production using Gyroflow. The Scarab camera mount helps produce clean and easy to work with gyro data, making stabalisation easy.

The DJI O4 Pro produces stunning footage and in many cases removes the need to carry an additional action camera. This is very much the case for drones that are designed to stay under 250g. By keeping below this weight means you do not need to register to fly it and there are less restrictions on where you can fly (based on UK law, other countries may vary).

When not carrying an additional camera, you can use this saved weight to carry larger batteries while remaining under 250g. This is where the Scarab really shines, with an 850mah 4S lipo you can easily achieve flight times up to 6 minutes.
