The Archon V4 is our flagship freestyle frame and the frame that started HaloRC over 7 years ago. We have retained many of the features of the original frame, while bringing it up to date with improved rigidity and a fresh design. The Archon V4 now provides a HD camera mount integrated into the frame and allows you to adjust the angle of your camera from 0-30 degrees.
The new dual spine and interlocking arms result in the stiffest Archon we have ever made, and our latest vertical carbon front end provides great proction for your FPV camera. Available in both a 5 or 6 inch version, the Archon V4 is the perfect freestyle frame for those who love to cruise and get into the freestyle flow.
We have grown tired of seeing so many frames using the built in mounting fingers of the GoPro to mount the action camera. Although this is a simple solution, it is not one that has ever offered any form of durability, and also raises the camera quite high off the frame resulting in worse balance and centre of gravity.
The Archon V4 is fitted with our new HD camera mount that offers pilots an adjustable camera angle from 0-30 degrees. This mount holds your action camera securely in place while keeping it as low profile as possible. The angle is locked in place by two bolts that attach to the vertical camera plates.
By using a mix of carbon fiber and TPU has allowed us to create a mount that is not only secure and durable, but can also be adapted to fit almost any action camera. Whether you are running a GoPro or DJI, our adjustabe mount can be used to provide the best mounting solution for your HD camera.
The Archon V4 can be fitted with almost any video transmission system currently on the market. We recommend the DJI O3 Air Unit, or the DJI Vista. We have created a range of TPU parts for mounting DJI antennae and cameras securely to the frame. They are available to purchase or to download for free and print yourself, along with the HD camera TPU parts.
There is plenty of space behind the FPV camera for fitting a 1000uf 35v capacitor with the provided TPU print. There is also enough room left to fit your control link receiver (RX) and to route the antennae to be mounted on the arms.
Our new interlocking arm design uses one main bolt per arm with the second bolt being shared by two arms. This is acheived by removing half the thickness of the carbon allowing the arms overlap at this point and share a single bolt.
The two spines butt up against the arms and are then secured in place using the stack bolts. This minimises hardware weight while maximising the effectiveness of the spines. The interlocking arms and the dual spines work together to form a very rigid centre section of the frame to reduce vibrations picked up by your flight controller.
The Archon V4 can be fitted with either a 30x30 or a 20x20 stack. We feel that 30x30 stacks are a bit overkill for 5 inch drones, they do however often come in a lower profile than 20x20 stacks, making them more suitable for a slammed frame like the Archon V4. Offering both mounting options makes this frame compatable with a wider range of hardware options.
