Drone Overview

The HaloRC Cygnus BNF is our Bind and Fly drone designed for carrying compact cinema cameras such as the Blackmagic Micro Studio G2, the Sony ZVE-10 II, and similar. By foccusing on carrying a cinema camera on top and the battery on the bottom lead us to develop the Cygnus with inverted motors. This allows us to make the overall footprint a lot smaller, maximises thrust output of the motors and keeps the propellors out of the shot from 0-35°

We have many years of experience building and tuning FPV drones, and during the development of every frame at HaloRC, we test a wide range of components to identify the best combination. We are pleased to offer customers a fully assembled, tested and tuned Cygnus that only requires you to bind to your transmitter and go fly.

Every BNF drone we sell is individually tested and fine tuned to provide the best experience possible. Unique test report data and analasys is provided along with Betaflight setup and 'diff' file. Additionally, we retain this data for future reference, enabling us to deliver updates to your setup whenever new features are released or enhanced performance is unlocked.

The HaloRC Cygnus has a compact profile with minimal drag, making it easier to reach high speeds with less effort. The Cygnus BNF comes equipped with Emax Pro 2808 1500KV motors and HQ 7037 propellers, pushing speeds beyond 150 km/h on 6S, and up to 170 km/h on 8S.

These powerful motors are driven by the T-Motor F55A Pro III 4-in-1 ESC and can be powered by either 6S or 8S LiPo batteries. That’s right... the Cygnus BNF is 8S ready. While it performs exceptionally well on 6S, switching to 8S unlocks even more power. The flight controller automatically detects 8S input and adjusts motor output accordingly for safe and smooth operation.

Thanks to this high-performance powertrain and the rigidity of the Cygnus frame, the drone can comfortably carry 1-1.5kg of payload. The recommended setup is a 1kg total payload, roughly 700g for camera and lens, and 300g for a 2200mAh 6S LiPo. The maximum suggested configuration is a 1kg camera and lens paired with a 500 g LiPo. Even at this upper limit, you can expect over 8 minutes of flight time on an 8S pack.

The HaloRC Cygnus BNF comes standard with a Matek M10 GPS module. Thanks to the latest advancements in Betaflight, GPS-based features now work reliably, and the Cygnus BNF takes full advantage. Return-to-home is pre-configured and ready to give you extra confidence when flying in complex environments.

To power your cinema camera, the rear panel includes a 12V voltage regulator delivering up to 2.5A from the main flight battery. An XT30 output makes it easy to connect your camera using a suitable cable, or plug directly into one of our Blackmagic Studio G2 Backpacks.

The Cygnus BNF uses original DJI antennas, mounted at the rear of the frame and angled for optimal coverage. In testing, we’ve seen no significant performance gains from aftermarket antennas, though TPU mounts are avaialable if you prefer to swap them out.

The HaloRC Cygnus has been developed to provide the best possible platform for carrying compact cinematic cameras in the most demanding shooting environments. A large part of this development has been spent on refining the frame to provide super clean gyro readings in the flight controller.

Cygnus uses our tried and tested interlocking arms and spine structure to provide unparralelled levels of stiffness. By minimising the vibrations (noise) being picked up by the flight controller results in drone that flies smooth even when pushing it hard.
